Three-Speed Logic is a one-person consultancy in Victoria, BC, Canada, run by Graeme Smecher.
Most of my work is a long-running collaboration with McGill University's experimental cosmology lab, building readout and signal-processing systems for telescopes. I have also worked on the LiteBIRD satellite in collaboration with McGill, as an independent contractor to the Canadian Space Agency.
Instruments like these are a mesh of technologies: boards, FPGA firmware, signal processing, bootloaders and embedded Linux, and the Python stack that controls it. I work across that whole stack, which makes it possible to build and maintain demanding systems without hand-offs between specialists. See my work for details.
